NOT the Hymn!" style="border:0px solid black;padding:5px;">

Song Question:
60's or 70's song lyrics
"Count your blessings and move on"
NOT the Hymn!

by Eve
(New Orleans, LA)

It's a slow song sung by a male with kind of a high tenor voice (Little Anthony-ish). It was played on an R&B station (WWRL) in New York when I was a kid (lates 60's early 70's probably).

The words/tune inflections I remember are:

"A wise man told me such a long time a-go...
He said 'don't let life get yooou doooown'
That wise man he tooold me such a long time a-go
He said 'Count your blessings, count your blessings, count your blessings and mooove on'
At the end theres a part where the singer's words follow a low to high scale "Bless-ings moo-ve oooon"

Help me! It's driving me crazy!
