There´s a part of the song that says: "I talked to my father, but he didn't know, I talked to my friend but he didn't know, I talked to my brother but he didn't know, talked to everybody that I knew..."

I guess it's a masculine singer, like Steve Ray Vaughan, but I'm not quite sure.

Also plays a strident lead guitar.
