Song Request:
Old School Reggae song Search.

by Fel Friesen
(Belize, Central America)

Searching for a song with the following lyrics below. It's old school reggae and I suspect the singer is Eric Donaldson, although I'm not sure.

"Johnny my boy, mama send you to school to learn to read and write.
Johnny my boy, mama send you to school to learn to spell "DUMPLING"
D-U-M-P--LING that's not the way my boy. The flour you kneed and the dumpling you eat that's how you spell dumpling.

Linda my girl papa send you to school to learn to read and write
Linda my girl papa send you to school to learn to spell "RED RUM"
R-E-D RED, R-U-M RUM; that's not the way my girl
The red that you see and the rum that you drink, that's how you spell RED RUM."

I've been trying to find that same tune for over 20 years. Did you ever find it?
