1970s disco type song that a white male sings

Ok, this is what I remember:

There was a white male singing it, however it was almost like talking, in a way that was a song. The song must have been in the 1970s sometime, but it might have been a bit earlier in the 1960s.

The singer was american (I think) in his 30s-40s.

If I recall correctly, he was singing about getting lost in the music or something along those lines. Basically talking about the song/the genre of music.

I think it was a disco song, but it might have been soul, r&b, funk etc... I'm not really sure. One of those.

There was a YouTube video that I watched (which I can't find now) which had the singer alone on a stage in a club of some sort. There was a crowd gathered in front of the stage which had mostly black people in it.

I apologise for being so vague, I don't remember much about the song at all.

Thank you! But no, that isn't it. It's quite similar though.

The singer's voice is deeper, and he doesn't have backup singers. In fact, I think he might be alone on the stage.

The singer had either blonde or red hair, as well as glasses and a beard.

The actual music and singing was a bit slower and the singer was quieter.

The stage was quite a bit smaller and the crowd was quite a bit smaller.

Thank you again.
