Popular 1980s Songs

1980S SONGS

The 1980s decade was the fun decade! The motto was "The bigger, the better!" And, this included the songs of the 80s.

This decade also indulged us with neon colors, leg warmers, shoulder pads, acid-washed denim, parachute pants, big hair, mullets, video games, Atari, Pac-Man, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Rubik’s Cube, Cabbage Patch dolls, aerobics, Band Aid, USA for Africa, Live Aid, breakdancing, music videos, synthesizers, new wave, hair metal, rap and hip hop.

Music videos became common with the debut of MTV. The very first music video played on MTV was Video Killed The Radio Star by the Buggles. Music of the 1980s was considered silly, but it was so much fun!

It sounds similiar to "Shout" by the Isley Brothers, but this song has electro-rythym funk.
