70s funk/rock song with trumpets playing in the chorus

by William
(Austin, Texas)

Its been a while since I've heard this song on the classic rock radio station in town. I can't remember what it sounds like other then the chorus sounds something like.

Trumpets playing the beat
na-na-na-na-na yah
na-na-na-na-na yah
na-na-na-na-na yah

Its faster song, has a slow down but then picks back up

sounds like steely dan or beegees

male vocals & some harmony

gets played on the radio frequently can't remember the
lyrics are something about life and relationships
because I remember hearing something like,
"walk alone on down that lonely road" -or-
"walk on down that lonely road"

there's also the really recognizable trumpet flourish that
I can hear clearly I just don't know how to type it out

pretty sure its a 70s funk/rock, early 80s maybe
