Duo song with a presumably foreign black and white video

I heard it a lot as a kid, in the late 90s, but I don't know exactly from when it is.

It has a slow beat, and it's sung by a duo. A woman with a soprano-ish voice, and a man with a deep voice. I believe one or both of them are black and the other might be from India. Not sure.

It's mostly in English, or at least the chorus is in English, and some parts are in that foreign language from the person that may or may not be Hindu.

It's not cheerful, and I recall a bunch of bass, at least in the beginning.

This black and white video features the singer and I *think* I recall it showing the reality of another country, which might, again, correspond with this maybe-hindu person.

From my faint kid memories, I might remember the chorus starting with something that sounded like "another day-y", but again, I don't know for sure.

Much appreciated if you manage to help me.
