Find A Song: cannot think of singer to 1980's song

by Jeff

The song received airplay on AOR stations (while I was living in the Midwest). I originally thought it might have been charlie sexton or dwight yoakam (crossover) - but too early for them.

Lead singer was male - again, would have been rock oriented - the lyrics revolved around "girls"...faster tempo song, probably never charted higher than top 100.

The lyrics were something like "girls...they want you, to tell you that you love them...girls, they want you, to never have to leave them....girls, they want you to..."? - then long stretch on word "girrrrrls."

It's pretty obscure - one of the few songs that my memory didn't leave me enough clues to detective work on my own - maybe somebody remembers this (I'd be impressed)!

with the name Dwight Yoakam, but I believe the song you're looking for is "Girls" by Dwight Twilley.
