So many of us love to take polls about music, exercise to it, dance to it and be uplifted and empowered by it. We also love to review albums, music videos and concerts. We have favorites and least favorites. We also often fondly recall our first albums and first concerts. We like to hear quotes by musicians - some of them are insightful and some of them just make no sense at all! We feel moved by and connect with heartbreak songs. We also highly identify with other songs. What songs describe our lives? Or parts of our lives? We may even have fun picking songs that would identify with certain tv or movie characters. Does anyone else imagine James Bond when hearing the song "You're So Vain"? We enjoy listening to fun music and silly songs, and some of us even have favorite kids songs. And then there are our favorite lyrics. Lyrics that make us laugh or cry - or that we think are just plain cool! And what about those lyrics that we thought we knew and have sung along to - only to find out that the words were actually something different than we actually thought? Then there are those lucky (or sometimes not so lucky) people who have met music celebrities. What were those encounters like? And, who were the really cool ones they met? We also dream of being rock, pop or country stars. Who would YOU want to be? Music provides a great escape. And, communicating about music and music themes can be pretty enjoyable.
