I heard a song on station wjjl 1440 am in Niagara Falls, NY and it did not give the name norartist

It was probably a late 60's to early 70's tune that had a slow beat and guitar background music,in fact very similar to the tune "Don't Let The Sun (Catch You Crying)" by Gerry & the Pacemakers. I have searched and listened to just about every G&TPM song on Youtube, also songs by The Beau Brummels, Dave Clark Five, The Kinks, and a couple others but I have come up with nothing. A few of the lyrics sounded like this: " I should've left when I cried over you."

PLEASE help me find the name and artist of this song, I won't rest until I do! Thanks! ;)
