I know most of the lyrics, but can't find the name or singer anywhere

A song that came out in the 80's, I think. It's a little girl and her Daddy. She says: Daddy, Daddy, you should have seen what I just seen, a flying saucer out in the yard, with polka dots and purple wings. Her dad sings: Daughter, daughter, that really isn't what you saw, its only part of your imagination, you didn't see a flying saucer at all. (and she says "I didn't?), he says "no". And then it continues with a lion coming through the door, etc.

I have absolutely no idea who sang it, or what the real name of the song is. But I sang it to my kids when they were young, and now my youngest son just had a baby girl in July, and want's to get a copy for his daughter, and without the name and singer, it seems to be an impossible task.
