It's always in movies that take place in the 50s. It sounds like a whiny guitar solo with no words, it is slow and has a sad/ominous feel to it. It's often the song playing immediately into a flash back from the 50s. The "waaaaahhh waaaahhh" sound has a slow "surfer" sounding influence. I believe this song was in Back to the future, maybe La Bamba, but is not on the soundtracks. My dad used to play it on guitar and I can't find out what it is called as the lack of words makes this difficult.
