Looking for name of song from 60s or 70s - slow and probably a love song

I heard a 60s or 70s song that is slow and probably a love song. It starts out with a violin intro and has a man singing in a high pitched voice. The only words I remember are something along the lines of since I've been with you, you have been untrue. I'm probably wrong about those lyrics but that's just what I seem to recall. My first thought was it was smokey Robinson or Eddie Holman, maybe the Bee gees but I've found nothing.
