My favorite 1950s songs...

by Sherry
(USA)

The 1950s were before my time, but I still enjoy many of the songs from that decade:

Rock Around The Clock - Bill Haley and His Comets. Gotta love this one.

Sway - Dean Martin. Fun song. I also really enjoy the much later version by Michael Buble'

Be-Bop-A-Lula - Gene Vincent & His Blue Caps

Blue Suede Shoes - Elvis Presley. It was originally done by Carl Perkins.

Heartbreak Hotel - Elvis Presley. Great vocals.

(You're So Square) Baby I Don't Care - Elvis Presley. Completely fun song.

Jailhouse Rock - Elvis Presley. Great rocking song.

Little Bitty Pretty One - Thurston Harris. Lots of fun!

Wake Up Little Susie - Everly Brothers. Love the Everly Brothers!

All I Have To Do Is Dream - Everly Brothers. Beautiful, mesmerizing song.

At The Hop - Danny & the Juniors. Great energy!

Bird Dog - Everly Brothers. Fun song!

Chantilly Lace - Big Bopper. Fun!

Fever - Peggy Lee. Classic torch song.

Johnny B. Goode - Chuck Berry. Classic rocker.

Stupid Cupid - Connie Francis. Cute song.

Rockin' Robin - Bobby Day. Songs don't get much more fun than this one.

Summertime Blues - Eddie Cochran. Great rocker.

Tequila - The Champs. Fun and unforgettable!

Willie And The Hand Jive - The Johnny Otis Show. Great energy!

('Til) I Kissed You - Everly Brothers. Nice melody.

I Only Have Eyes For You - The Flamingos. Beautiful, haunting song.

It Doesn't Matter Anymore - Buddy Holly. Later covered by Linda Ronstadt.

It's Late - Ricky Nelson. Cute song.

Peter Gunn Theme - Duane Eddy. Great instrumental.

Sea Of Love - Phil Phillips and the Twilights. Another beautiful, haunting song.

And some great silly songs:

Poison Ivy - The Coasters

Witch Doctor - David Seville (best known for his work with the Chipmunks)

Yakety Yak (don’t talk back) - The Coasters

My favorite 1950's songs...
by: Anonymous

Does anyone remember a song from the 50's where parts of the songs sounded like ''here and now'' and what sounded like ''down into my heart''? I heard an oldies song that sounded like this in an antique store, and do not for the life of me know what the song is. It sounds like a duo or group of guys that sing it. The singers sound a little like Herman's Hermits, I think.

Please help me find it. I'd appreciate it
