Piano song from 70's / early 80's stuck in my head
Looking for help identifying a song stuck in my head.
- It was performed by a male lead vocalist with background vocalist(s?) who I assume to be female.
- A piano was the main instrument that I recall in the chorus but I'm sure there were others throughout the song. I do not think the song was either Billy Joel or Elton John but both have surprised me before.
- It was a pop song with a "big" sound and got 2nd or 3rd tier radio play on classic rock stations well after the song had passed into an "oldie" (not that the song is classic rock but the time period is similar). I'd assume the song was recorded in the 70's but I would be recalling the song from US radio play in the early to mid-90's, but it could still be playing today.
- in the chorus, the instruments stop and the singer sings a line. My memory is foggy but I believe the line is "It kills the pain"
Not sure why this song popped in my head but any help identifying it would be appreciated!
