Ramsey Ramsey, or Ramsay Ramsay

by John Bennett
(Wales. U.K.)

Played a lot on, Radio Caroline North, in 1966.

The song lyrics were, Ramsey, Ramsey, followed by 6 notes, with a sort of brass and
whistle in the background which were sounded to the, Ramsey Ramsey.

It isn't, "Ramsey's Men", by Roy Hudd.

It might be, "Ramsy Tamsy", a traditional Scottish folk song, but this has still not been proven.

The song was used a lot on Caroline, especially as she was anchored of, Ramsey Bay, the Isle of Man.

Aged 11, I started out with a list of songs which was added to virtually by the day.
I never thought I'd get any of them.
However, I did and this track, which even the most devout Radio Caroline fan cannot remember; is the last one remaining on my list.
