Relatively New Indie Rock Song

by Confused in Texas

The most identifiable feature is a "drop" or a tempo break in the song where the male vocals sing a high pitched "OH ooh" followed several quick 1-2-3 guitar chords (kinda sounds like: "NER-nuh-nerrrre. NER-nuh-nerrrre. Think a higher pitched R sound.". During this first big break all guitar and other instruments aren't playing, hence the "Drop-like" feature...

After the OH ohh(s) they say the name of the song. They say it as well during the chorus I believe and a handful of times at the end of the song. I believe it's a 5 word sentence something along the lines of "don't take this past from me" or "don't something something something for me." Something phonetically along those lines...

I was thinking maybe it was a Cage the Elephant song, but I don't think it is. I remember hearing this particular song followed directly by "Come a Little Closer" while listening to the SiriusXM radio on channel 35 or 36.
