Soft Rock with Brass Riff

The song is soft rock (and sort of has a folksy feel), not heavy metal, but has a strong, sort of thumping drum beat. The catchiest part of the song is the brass riff (trumpet, sax, trombone... not really sure; could be a synthesizer but probably not) which is at the beginning of the song and after each chorus. I cannot remember any of the words, but, as it was on the radio and they gave me the name (only now I forget), I'm pretty sure the title or artist of the song has thieves or thief in the name. The song was almost definitely before 1990 by its sound.

Is it "Baker Street" (could sound like thief) by Gerry Rafferty?
