Song About Music...Can't Remember Title!

by David Conrad

On July 8, 2015, I was listening to WVLI radio 92.7 FM between 8:05 am and 8:25 am. They are an "oldies" station. The upbeat song was performed by a female singer. The song topic was "music" and the chorus of the song referred to music. The tempo was approximately mm=120. When I listened to the song, I thought it would be an excellent song for a publisher to arrange for a middle school chorus or show choir...positive, uplifting lyric about music. I'm guessing the song was created between 1965-1974. I might describe it as bubble-gum pop...lots of instrumental and vocal accompaniment layers. The song had an instrumental bridge (a dance break in the show choir world). I know the chorus of the song mentioned "music" and "the music" a couple of times. I had never heard the song before, and I'm guessing it's obscure! Thanks for your help.

Make Your Own Kind of Music
by: David Conrad

The winning song is "Make Your Own Kind of Music" recorded by Cass Elliot. I was watching a BBC documentary about The Carpenters when I realized I had found the song I was looking for! Thanks!
