Song from the 80's I think - had a pretty neat catchy piano riff

by Kevin

So there's a song from the 80's (maybe the 90's) I can't find. Obviously I don't remember title or artist. It has lyrics something to the effect of:
"You could have been with me
You could have been with anyone"

No, this isn't the Sheena Easton song. It had a pretty neat catchy piano riff. Song about lost love. Singer was a black guy. Not sure if he was a solo artist or a band. The video didn't stay around a long time, but it did get airplay for a short while. Help please!
