Song Question:
song about children

There is a song that starts "I will write a song for children, I'll sing it everyday" ... and ends with "maybe someday we'll grow up to be children too".

A man sings it, it's a slow, melodic song, around in early 70s. I thought it was Bobby Goldsboro, but I don't see it in his discography.

Not sure of the name of the song. Does anyone know the exact title of the song and/or who sang it?
