Song Request: "Over You"

by Kerry Richards
(Ottawa, Ont., Canada)

All male group from the sixties.

Flip side of a 45 that turned out more popular than the release side.

Slow tempo that builds slightly but not heavy. Much more of a love song with sadness.

The lyrics that I know go like this:

"I used to wonder why you made me cry you made me cry and now I guess I know it's because of another guy. Over youuu over youuu."

That's all I can remember.

I know the "Beau Brumells" were around at this time but I don't think it was them.

Hope someone can help me. Thanks Kerry

It sounds a lot like...
by: Sherry Ochoa-Rounkles

Don't You Care by The Buckinghams, who sounded a bit like the Beau Brummels.

The lyrics are not exactly the same as you mentioned, but some are very similar. And, the whole sound of the song and group is very similar.

Don't You Care is a really great song from 1967 and was the flip side of The Buckinghams hit Mercy, Mercy, Mercy.

Some of the lyrics are:

If you don't love me, why don't you tell me, instead of runnin around, with all the other guys in town, can't you see, you're hurtin me, don't you care, don't you care

I thought that my name came up automatically when responding. I was wrong.

I really hope someone can find my group and song. I am in the process of checking out groups and songs from that era in hopes of triggering my memory.

Hope to hear from you soon. Happy Halloween.

Kerry
