Trying to Identify Artist and song Title.

I am trying to identify the following song title and Artist. Unfortunately I don't know the decade it originated in nor the country of origin.

Male Artist

Slow song opens with a Piano solo.

Haven’t I been a fool to think that we could stay together?
Haven’t I been so blind to think that it could last for ever?
Haven’t you changed your mind and found that something else is better?
Haven’t I been a fool for ever wanting to?
Didn’t we make some love when all the others were forgotten?
Didn’t we get so close that there was hardly any air?
Didn’t it seem so good I thought we’d never touch the bottom?
Didn’t I seem a fool for never wanting to?
I knew it would end like a last page of a sadly written book
I knew it would end but I love the way it lasted
And all the time it took.

Guitar solo break

I knew it would end like a last page of a sadly written book
I knew it would end but I love the way it lasted
And all the time it took.

Shouldn’t there be a time when we can sit and talk together?
Couldn’t we talk about the reason something else is better?
Didn’t I change my mind and say I can’t love you for ever?
Haven’t I been a fool for ever wanting to?

The song is "Fool" by Edward Bear, a Toronto-based Canadian pop-rock group, formed originally in 1966.

Check it out it's quite an enjoyable tune.
