I posted as anonymous before as it was also driving me mad.
This is the answer , its called The Gold Cup by Al Hazan, he wrote it and sang it and its on youtube. But it is NOT the version heard on Bletchley, it it a slower piano backed version. Al Hazan re-recorded it as a slow rock version under the pseudoname of Dudley Duncan. This version is also on youtube.
So glad I can clear up this mystery.
