The song in question is a heavy pop rock song from the 1990s with a blonde, female lead singer. At the time I remember it being quite popular, to the point of it being used in a commercial I believe. I live in Australia but am uncertain of whether the band is Australian. It might explain why google has no results when I try to find it by using the main lyrics in quotes or describing the film clip.
So… from what I remember the film clip is set with the blonde singer walking awkwardly through a moving train. The song lyrics that I think I remember correctly are:
“I know what I want but I don’t know where to/I’ll find it”
And the chorus goes “give it to me, sell it to me, I really want it”
The tone of the song is quite fast paced with heavy guitar. It seems to be about someone shallow.
Now, I may be remembering any number of things relating to this song incorrectly. But I am fairly sure of the chorus at least.
Thanks to anyone who can tell me what this song is, or to anyone who tries to find it. I have been trying to figure out what it is for about a year. Tonight I spent an hour and a half going through Triple J hottest 100 lists from the 90s in the hope it might be listed there with no luck. I may be looking in the wrong place, depending on when the song came out or which radio stations picked it up.
